The ALRA of Wisconsin, District 8 organizational meeting took place on Sunday, February 10th, 2008 at 1300 hours at the Elefson-Zeuske American Legion Post 117, in Shawano, WI. There were five District 8 members present, 3 State Officers, one member from the Milwaukee District and one guest. President Roy Helms was present to officiate the inaugural meeting and conduct the swearing-in ceremonies of the new officers of District 8. Other State Officers present were Nancy Helms, Historian and Ray Pasbrig, Vice President. Congrats to Dale Vannes and the members for stepping forward to make District 8 a reality. The Shawano Post Commander, Bob Hoffman “The Hoff” was present and had the following comments: “I view today’s ALRA meeting as another win-win for the American Legion in District 8 and the Dept. of Wisconsin. I foresee many “baby-boomers” and new veterans becoming members of the American Legion Family through their involvement with the ALRA.
